🔴 TikTok's Best Update Yet

Late last week TikTok LIVE Studio had its biggest and best update yet. Plus, I’m looking for UK creators to help me!

🎨 LIVE Studio Adds Themes and Compatibility Mode

Late last week, TikTok launched what I think is easily the single best update to LIVE Studio so far. It was a two-pronged update. Let’s look at both now.

Themes

You can now add four different free themes to your stream. This includes a camera border, background and designs for the in-built goals, alerts and chat box.

To access the themes, update LIVE Studio then simply hit “Add Scene” then click “Go to theme library”.

Compatibility Mode

This mode allows you to stream in both landscape and vertical mode at the same time. By default, the viewers see your stream in vertical mode but they can simply tap a button to switch to landscape view.

LIVE Studio provides both a vertical and landscape canvas so you can provide your viewers with an optimal experience in both modes. Check out my video below for my full thoughts.

To access this mode, click the drop-down in the top left corner, right beneath “Scenes. Unfortunately, TikTok hasn’t released this to every LIVE Studio user yet.

📊 Massively Underused Multistream Method

I am always banging on about multistreaming but for good reason! Recently I tested out an underused part of Streamlabs Ultra*, which is called Streamlabs Talk Studio. Let’s quickly dive in.

For just $19/month as part of Streamlabs Ultra, you can add unlimited streaming accounts to Talk Studio. There’s also a free version where you can give it a test run.

Talk Studio is completely browser based meaning it can run on both Windows and Macs. As you can see from my Tweet (Xeet?) above, it provides far better value than the competitors and you can add more platforms.

The setup for me was super simple. Since my stream was set up in OBS I simply enabled the OBS Virtual Camera and added this as my only camera source to Talk Studio. I then simply use OBS to run the stream.

I was actually impressed with how flawlessly the whole thing worked. The only downsides I found were I had to edit a few of the YouTube stream settings in YouTube Studio and was limited to 30 fps.

📱 YouTube Vertical Streaming

As I talked about last week, YouTube has started to roll out Shorts vertical streaming. I made a quick tutorial about this on my experimental YouTube channel.
