🔴 4 Methods To Stream On TikTok

Vertical streaming on YouTube, steps to gain more subs, stream keys and more!

Issue #16

Hey, it’s Harry.

After a week away we’re back on the streaming and content grind.

Interesting news this week as YouTube finally announces vertical streaming.

In today’s edition of Live Success:

  • 🎵 The 4 ways to stream on TikTok

  • 🚀 4 steps to get more subscribers

  • 🔑 TikTok stream keys for Canadians and Americans

🎙 Streaming Comes To YouTube Shorts

YouTube has this week announced that vertical livestreams are coming!

Here is everything you need to know:

  • YouTube confirmed that you can already stream in vertical mode via the regular methods of YouTube streaming. They are then slowly rolling these streams out to the Shorts feed too.

  • It works very similar to TikTok LIVE. Once you discover a stream in the Shorts feed you can tap on it to join the stream and then swipe to discover other vertical streams.

  • They have confirmed you can stream in both landscape and vertical at the same time! This is great as it means your stream is discoverable on more parts of YouTube.

This makes Aitum Vertical an even more awesome app. You’ll be able to stream in landscape and vertical with one OBS client plus easily clip content for Shorts and TikTok.

This will take a few months to roll out into the Shorts feed for most channels. However, since vertical streaming already works from your normal channel page I strongly suggest giving it a go if you’ve been streaming on YouTube.

📽 The Four Ways To Stream On TikTok

In a poll I did a few days ago, only 46% of people realise that there are four different ways to stream on TikTok. So here is each method.

  1. Phone cameras. Unlocks at 500 to 1K followers.

The most simple method for streaming and the method used by 95% of the weekly ranking. If you want to do live battles or multi-guest you are forced to use this method. This method is best for simple chat-style streams.

If you’re ever in doubt, go live on TikTok through this method. Want to stand out? Use TikFinity’s sound alerts.

  2. Mobile gaming. Unlocks at 1K to 3K followers.

Probably the least used method. This allows you to screen share any app on your phone. Best for… mobile gamers!

Don’t have access to PC streaming? You can simply share the Twitch/YT app. Tutorial here.

  3. TikTok LIVE Studio. Unlocks at 1K, 3K or 10K followers. This is based on whether TikTok think you are a gaming account or not.

This is Windows PC streaming software developed by TikTok themselves. It’s vastly improved since its first release and is a great option for gaming streamers without a stream key.

Check out my setup guide then quickly add alerts on top with my 4-minute TikFinity guide.

  4. Stream keys. No follower requirements. They are issued exclusively via agencies or direct contact with TikTok. Even some agencies claim they can’t help.

This allows you to use any software to stream such as OBS, Streamlabs Ultra* or Restream. It means you can stream in high quality from any type of device and have more ways to multistream.

Agencies are country-based and can’t help you if you aren’t in that location. For US/Canada check out FTTV. Sadly I haven’t found agencies in other countries who can give stream keys.

📈 Get More Subscribers

Getting paid subscribers on any platform is tough. Here is my 4 step guide:

  1. Offer incentives on top of the default badge and sub emotes. It can be as simple as a follow back, add in game or Discord role. The more appealing the better!

  2. Use tech to encourage subs. Add LIVE Studio or TikFinity sub alerts and consider enabling TikFinity TTS Chat just for your subs so you never miss a message.

  3. Set a sub-goal. When you hit it, do something fun!

  4. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to mention the sub-goal or benefits of subscribing while streaming. Many viewers might not even realise they can sub.

Did you know I offer some free emotes on my Ko-Fi page?
