🤖 AI For Creators

There’s been a lot of recent news and updates. We’ve seen ChatGPT 4o, Google’s I/O event and Grok updates from Twitter/X. But what’s actually useful for creators?

Three AI Tools I Use

• Midjourney - Great for generating images. I often use this if I need a background image for something. For example, a colour gradient background for a YouTube thumb.

• ChatGPT - The current AI god. If you’re writing a script it’s helpful for rewording things. Likewise, it’s great for getting title and thumbnail ideas. Earlier today, it helped me write a follow-up email with a sponsor to ask when I’ll receive my payment.

• VEED* - My go-to video editor for short-form content. Add subtitles with one click, and remove silence with one click. It can even edit a whole video with the magic editor, but that’s currently unreliable.

Ultimately, AI should be a tool that compliments you. You can’t run your whole TikTok/YouTube channel with AI. It still needs your human creativity!

💼 TikTok LIVE Agency Red Flags

A few days ago, Stevie in my Discord server shared a very creepy screenshot.

This was a representative, supposedly either working for TikTok or an agency calling him a “cutecumber” amongst other things. 🤣🤣

It’s a frequently discussed topic on this newsletter but absolutely worth discussing again.

What Is A TikTok LIVE Agency?

Well actually, TikTok renamed them recently to “Creator Networks”. This is presumably because “agency” can be seen as a dirty word sometimes.

Anyway, their primary purpose is to help you grow on TikTok LIVE. Most agencies do that by providing stream keys, protecting you from false bans and providing training in the form of videos, group calls or even 1-on-1s.

Agency Red Flags

Any agency on my list of agencies is verified to be a professional agency that provides a good standard of service. I’ve removed some in the past.

Anyway, here are some red flags to look out for:

• Agency DMing you - The best agencies don’t need to DM you to recruit creators. They certainly won’t call you a “cutecumber” during their recruitment attempts 🤣.

• No website - You can make a website on something like Wix for dirt cheap. So an agency not having a website is a sign they are cutting corners to save money or just have no idea what they are doing.

• Not interested in helping you - If you join an agency and they just don’t care then simply leave. You have the power here. You can join another after 60 days.

• Not focussed on TikTok LIVE - The best agencies are solely focussed on TikTok LIVE. This means they can hyper-focus on topics and strategies that help you grow.
