🔴 An Unusual Way To Get More TikTok LIVE Views

Hey, it’s Harry.

🎮 The Odd Roblox Stream Pulling 1,000 Viewers
A few days back, I was sent a link to DarkMOD’s TikTok stream alongside a simple question: “How do I do this?”. I opened the stream and found it quite amusing and odd at the same time. Let’s find out how this stream often reaches 1,000 concurrent viewers.
What’s going on?
It’s actually pretty simple.
A Roblox video is playing in the background. For anyone interested in Roblox the video itself looks quite interesting. The player in the video is perfectly completing a tricky-looking motorbike course. It reminds me of the Subway Surfers trend.
When viewers type certain words in chat such as “Welcome”, a short one-second sound plays that is related to the word. They’ve set this up for three different words. Their username and profile picture also appears on the screen.
For likes and gifts, a similar thing happens except the profile picture is bigger when gifts are sent.
Why is it successful?
TikTok LIVE’s algorithm loves engagement. The massive volume of chat messages encourages the algorithm to push the stream out to more people.
Ego. Viewers love being recognised, even if it's by an automated system. It’s a free chance to get your profile picture and name in front of 1K people and you can do it as much as you want.
Skill. I often say that most successful gaming streams are either entertaining or highly skilled. The video playing in the background shows a highly skilled Roblox player. Even with your sound turned off, the stream is interesting.
Should you do it?
This is not a good way to build community. This is not a good type of stream if you want to be a serious and long-term content creator. This will not make you much money. I suspect DarkMOD is doing this purely for the dopamine hit of seeing the numbers go higher 📈📈📈.
Having said that…
If you want to do this. Here are my thoughts. Firstly, TikTok often doesn’t like looped videos. So instead, play the game yourself (it doesn’t have to be Roblox). Add your camera somewhere on the screen.
Alongside this, do not make this your only type of stream. It can be a fun way to get plenty of viewers and followers but these people aren’t here for you. As I said earlier, they are just here to see their profile pic on the screen. So do some community-building streams too.
How is it done?
So with all that in mind, here’s how it’s done and spoiler alert, it uses TikFinity*.
🟢 Kick’s New Creator Incentive Program
It’s been a busy few weeks for streaming platform Kick. A few days ago Kick reached 20 million users. Alongside this, the platform and some of its streamers have been involved in multiple controversies. On the flipside though, Kick just re-announced a program that pays streamers per hour.
What is Kick and why is it controversial?
Kick launched late last year and most people, including myself, thought it would be short-lived. The site itself is basically a Twitch clone. One year on though and as you saw above, Kick is still going strong.
Kick’s biggest selling point is its industry-leading 95/5 split. This means when a viewer subs for $5 the streamer gets $4.75. In comparison, a sub on TikTok will net you $2.10.
Kick is controversial because it is home to many of the largest right-wing streamers such as Adin Ross. There are frequent reports of streamers doing questionable things which would get them banned on other streaming sites.
The common counterargument is the “contractor vs. company” argument. One bad apple doesn’t make the whole tree rotten. As bbjess points out, by remaining on the platform she can advocate for a better platform for all.
Late last month, TikTok’s most famous sleep streamer Jakey Boehm switched to Kick. This followed months of poor treatment and apathy from TikTok. I covered this in-depth a few weeks ago.
How to get paid per hour
Yesterday, Kick tweaked the requirements for their Creator Incentive Program.
The updated requirements for the program
The program pays streamers an hourly rate and is currently in an invite-only “phase 1” of testing. Once phase 3 begins in November, the program will “shortly thereafter” be available for all eligible streamers via their Kick dashboards.
Act now. You should start seriously considering whether Kick is a good option for you. Take the time to build a strong community and go for those requirements. Use the delay to your advantage!
Useful resources
It’s worth noting that Kick’s terms of service allow you to stream on multiple platforms. Here are some resources for that.
LIVE Studio + Kick - Learn how to stream on Kick and TikTok at the same time.
Multistream deep dive - 6 different ways to multistream. Methods for all!
Streamlabs Ultra ($9 discount)* - Stream on up to 7 different platforms from one client. Includes vertical and landscape at the same time. I personally use this.
🤑 How To Earn More From Sponsorships
Looking to get sponsorships or make more money from them? Here are four tips to make more money along with an exclusive offer for committed creators.
Offer multiple packages when negotiating. For example, a $200 YouTube package vs. a $500 YouTube & TikTok package. Give the company more choice. This is one of the many concepts taught by Justin Moore in his free newsletter*. Justin sends you sponsorships plus advice every single week.
Affiliate links can be a good way to start. Reach out to the company when you’ve sold a good amount of their product. I did this with NordVPN*. After doing over $3k in affiliate sales they had no problem accepting my (package) offer of 3 adverts for $500. I honestly should have offered more!
Brand-friendly content is a must for most sponsors. If you’re constantly streaming 18+ content then sponsorships will be hard to come by. A perfect example of high-quality and brand-friendly gaming content is Blue Thunder.
Katliente has a free list of sponsorships available here. Check out the rest of her Ko-Fi page alongside her TikTok. Both pages have so many great resources and tips for streamers.
Are you already getting sponsorships? Want to turn one-off deals into long-term partnerships worth thousands of dollars? Looking to negotiate with more confidence and certainty?
As a former student, I am a proud affiliate of Brand Deal Wizard. It’s an exclusive 4-week live cohort that will teach you how to stop leaving thousands on the table during negotiations. Act fast to unlock Justin’s bonus offer. 👇
Now, speaking of sponsors… 🤣

Eagle-eyed readers may have noticed a small tweak in the opening line of the newsletter. I think the word “grind” can sometimes have negative connotations for creators so I’ve replaced it with “journey”. Thoughts?
