🔴 YouTube Launches Shorts Livestreaming

Earlier this week, YouTube finally fully launched YouTube Shorts livestreaming.

You won’t be surprised to hear that it works similarly to TikTok LIVE. Viewers scrolling through the Shorts feed will sometimes find a scrollable live feed instead. You can also pause any Short and tap the live icon in the top left instead.

People like JaredFPS are already reporting respectable viewership. It’s also been confirmed that Shorts streams count towards your 4K watch hours to earn ad revenue. Just don’t unlist them!

Why Stream On YouTube Shorts?

As Sherry from YouTube says in this video it can be hard for your landscape YouTube stream to get views from the recommendation feed when it’s competing against ultra-produced content like MrBeast.

Shorts livestreaming allows more “casual” streamers a chance to shine and of course, it allows you to connect more deeply with your community compared to a short video.

Perhaps most importantly, just like TikTok LIVE, there is a discovery algorithm that can bring you new viewers. Create great content and the viewers will come!

🤑 TikTok creator FatalGlytch shared how he made over $25,000 just by creating videos on TikTok.

Fatal is part of a US-only program called the TikTok Creative Challenge. This appears to be a UGC-style program where you create adverts for other brands, clearly in exchange for large quantities of cash!

🎥 Pokimane has been streaming all over the place this week. Following her announcement last week that she was leaving Twitch she has popped up on Instagram Live and TikTok LIVE and has even multistreamed to Twitch/YT/TT at once.

It’s never too late in your content journey to start experimenting and it certainly is never too late to multistream.
