🔴 TikTok's New Rewards Program
Plus Harry is ranting!
Hey, it’s Harry.
Welcome back to another week of the streaming and content journey.
Neuralink last week showed us how livestreaming can be used as a force for good. Plus TikTok has a new rewards program and I’m ranting about TikTok’s poor structure!

🔴 TikTok’s New Reward Program
TikTok is launching a new monetisation program called the Creator Rewards Program (CRP). After about two years, the Creativity Program is finally out of beta.
Here’s how much 💰 I made on the NEW TikTok creator rewards program with 5 Million views and 482k likes…
(Spoiler: A LOT worse than before)

What is it?
Much like the previous program, you can get paid for views on TikTok videos that are over 60 seconds in length. This is clearly a deliberate threshold to prevent you from easily reuploading the same video to YouTube Shorts.
The requirements to join the program remain the same: 10K followers with a minimum of 100K views in the last 30 days.
What’s changed?
Apart from a small name change, it remains very similar to the beta version of the program. Your payout is a “formula” combining multiple criteria including how often your community watches adverts.
The key difference is that TikTok has added a reward criteria for “search value”. This implies that if your video topic is frequently searched you will be rewarded appropriately.
My Thoughts
Many creators including Birdo above are reporting lower payouts compared to the beta. Previously it was possible to get up to $2 per 1K views. I never thought this was sustainable. On YouTube, many long-form gaming videos struggle to reach that figure.
The RPM of 17 cents shown in Birdo’s X post above is closer to the typical YouTube Shorts RPMs of around 10 cents. However, we are still early into this program and TikTok likely has more advertisers than YouTube Shorts.
As ever, post your short form content across all major platforms. Aim for 61 to 70 seconds so you can easily cut it down for Facebook/Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
🚀 NordVPN Exclusive Deal
The lovely folks at NordVPN have put my face on my affiliate page. Nord has an exclusive deal for you.
I use NordVPN to:
🎬 Access country-locked content
📜 Sign up for social media accounts in other countries (For example, a US TikTok account)
🛑 Block malicious adverts
🕵️♂️ Protect my IP address
😡 Rant Time
I’ve often highlighted TikTok’s poor organisation and obvious lack of employees. However, until now I haven’t collated a list of all these issues into one place. It’s rant time 😤.
In my new video, I tackle TikTok's organizational mess, from their atrocious support on Twitter/X to removing Live Studio's compatibility mode without warning. I provide tips for creators to protect their work by spreading it across other platforms and stress the urgent need for TikTok to improve its communication and staffing.
📜 Post Of The Week
Instead of blaming “the algorithm” think about one way you can improve every livestream or video.
what separates successful creators from non-successful ones is the ability to recognize when your content sucks, instead of blaming everything except yourself, and then working to make it better 😅
