After the whirlwind of livestreaming drama in the past weeks, this one has been relatively peaceful! 😅 Anyway, let’s dive in.

🎓 TikTok LIVE Best Practices

Recently I was on a group call with creators from the FTTV US/CA agency. We were talking about growing your TikTok LIVE audience.

A common theme popped up: many creators were not following best practices.

5 Of My Favourite TikTok LIVE Best Practices

  1. Post a video before going live.

    Instead of instantly posting your new content, hold it until a few minutes before your stream. When your video starts trending on the FYP many viewers will tap the red ring and join the stream. You get more viewers AND you can all talk about the video!

  2. Increase engagement using alerts.

    This means using TikFinity or the alerts built into LIVE Studio (or both!). These tools are designed to increase things like new followers, likes and gifts. The TikTok algorithm will see this and boost your stream to more people.

  3. Link in bio.

    I’ve also been a big proponent of multistreaming, cross-posting videos and finding extra revenue streams. With that in mind, make sure all your other websites and socials are in your bio using a link in bio tool. I use solo.to but many people use LinkTree.

  4. Discord (or newsletter!)

    It is ESSENTIAL that your community has a place to hang out when you are not live and that you have a way to reach them even if you get banned. Most people use Discord for this, as do I. You’ll find mine in the footer of this newsletter but you’ll also find a link to create a free Beehiiv newsletter. I really think more creators should utilise email. Simply send a weekly (or less) email to your fans. Say whatever you want, life updates, stream schedules, game updates etc!

  5. Planned livestreams

    As we discussed last week, it pays to plan some of your livestreams. Put on a big event every so often. Hype up your event in streams prior to this. Get the viewers excited!

🎬 How To Stream Mobile Games - 3 Methods
