Welcome back to the streaming and content journey. It’s been a while, but we’re back to share info about TikTok’s updated LIVE subscription features.

In essence, LIVE Subscriptions have been replaced by “Super Fans”, which costs more. Read on to learn more…

What’s Happening?

LIVE Subscriptions is now Super Fan. Super Fan is a LIVE-only, $9.99 monthly membership with a permanent Super Fan badge and entrance effects; automatic Fan Club membership with faster levelling (new members can start at Level 10); access to Super-Fan-only LIVEs (with an optional 60-second public preview) and Super-Fan-only comments/chat; plus a dedicated Super Fan space for exclusive posts, chats, polls and topics.

Members also get special gift access, including Super Popular gifts; Go Popular counts double and earns double points (not limited by bonus periods). Creators can add customised perks such as priority co-hosting, priority DMs, pinned comments, shout-outs and mini-games, and set on-stream Super Fan goals to highlight and celebrate new upgrades.

Most LIVE perks and access move automatically. If someone subscribed mainly for LIVE benefits, they’ll transition to Super Fan; non-LIVE-focused subscribers stay on Subscriptions. Pricing shifts too: above $9.99 drops to $9.99, and $9.99 or below keeps that price for three months.

Subscriptions continue—but think of them as off-LIVE extras. Your focus now is guiding viewers into Super Fan: set a Super Fan goal, announce the switch during streams, use Fan Club missions as a warm-up, enable Super-Fan-only comments, and schedule a couple of Super-Fan-only LIVEs (with a 60-second preview) to convert on the spot.

I’m not a fan of TikTok doubling or tripling the subscription price for most people. Assuming you have a $5 sub tier, your goal is to convert more than half of current subs into new Super Fans. Think about how you can incentivise people to become Super Fans.
