⭐ Make More Money With TikTok LIVE Subscriptions - Live Success #8

How to use technology to get more subs plus advice from a 3M creator.

Hey, it’s Harry.

Getting new subscribers on TikTok can be tough. Viewers just aren’t as familiar with it compared to Twitch or YouTube. Even some of the biggest streamers like Jakey Boehm only have a few hundred subs.

So let’s dedicate today’s edition to TikTok live subscriptions so you can make more money! 🤑

We will cover:

  • 💰 Money - How much can be made?

  • 🤖 Technology - Using the latest tech to gain more subs.

  • 🚀 Advice - A creator with 3M followers shares a tip.

  • 😲 Emotes - How to make fantastic looking emotes.

⭐ The Basics

Are you familiar with the basics of live subscriptions? If not, watch my latest video for a quick overview.

Then come back to this newsletter because we’re going a whole lot deeper!

💲 Money To Be Made

When you first sign up, TikTok predicts 7.6% of followers will sub.

TikTok predicts that 7.6% of followers will sub

For somebody with 1,000 followers (the minimum), this means 76 subs per month. This is highly unlikely.

However, with the tips we’re about to cover you’ll definitely be able to convert some viewers into loyal subscribers.

You will make $2.10 per sub. Paid on the 15th of every month into your gift balance. The viewer typically pays $5 to $6 and Apple/Google and TikTok take a cut.

😮 Emotes = Money

High-quality emotes are a major reason viewers will subscribe. So it’s worth investing your time and/or money into making some awesome emotes for your community. Here are two methods.

Fiverr

A small investment in Fiverr Emotes can easily return your money through new subs within a month or two. Plus, you can use them on Twitch and YouTube too!

Check out the emotes that Mikucchi made for me. The first one is mine and the other 5 are custom requests I sent to her.

If you’re buying emotes through Fiverr then code HARRY (all caps) gives 10% off any purchase and clicking either of the links above will also support my work! 🙏

GIMP

Yes, I also found the name of this software funny. However, it is real! GIMP is free image editing software with many features similar to Photoshop. The “Stay Hydrated” text you see above was made with this.

New to GIMP? Just ask ChatGPT! It is fantastic for stuff like this. For example, just ask “How do I draw a circle in GIMP?”.

Emotes Advice

However you make your emotes, follow my 3-step process:

  1. Fill every available emote slot you’ve got. I have 15.

  2. Mention the emotes frequently and encourage your subscribers to spam them in the chat.

  3. Engage your community when deciding on new emotes. They’ll often have great ideas!

🔔 Incentivise Subs With Tech

Here are two TikFinity hacks which will help you get more subs and keep more subs.

Sub Alerts

When a viewer subscribes, TikFinity’s desktop app (linked above) can detect that. You can then output something fun onto the screen to encourage more subs.

This can be text, images, video, or audio. Your imagination is the limit!

  1. Go to the Actions & Events page > Create New Action.

  2. Name the action “New Sub”.

  3. Choose what happens when they sub. Be sure to check the “Show Alert” box and type something like “Thanks for the {submonth} month sub!”.

  4. Save the action > Create New Event.

  5. Everyone can trigger the event. The trigger is “Subscribe”.

  6. Choose your action from the list and save.

  7. Add screen 1 as a link/browser source to LS/OBS.

  8. Test it at the bottom of the Actions & Events page by simulating a subscription.

You can learn a lot more about TikFinity and sub alerts on my YouTube channel here.

TTS

Give your subscribers an exclusive perk: the ability to use text-to-speech to chat with you. This just incentivises people to sub and prevents the chaos that happens when followers use TTS.

  1. Head to the TTS Chat page and check the “Enabled” box.

  2. Under “Allowed Users”, disable “All Users” and “Followers” as a minimum.

  3. It is usually preferable to set a command. Jakey Boehm uses the dot command.

  4. If you want the TTS to read out the username of the sub then change the template at the bottom to “{username} says {comment}”.

  5. Use the Voice Tester to hear what it sounds like!

These two hacks will give your subs an incentive to subscribe and an incentive to stay subscribed!

🦉 Wise Words

I contacted my friend Allenownz, who has over 3,300,000 followers. I asked his advice for gaining more TikTok subs.

I basically just set sub goals every 25/50 and did fun stuff.

Allenownz, 3M followers.

If you’re taking Allen’s advice then use this 3 step process:

  1. Choose a sensible target. It depends on your stream size. Consider your goal being 5, 10 or 20 subs.

  2. Choose a forfeit or list of forfeits that you’ll do when you hit each goal.

  3. Mention it frequently throughout the stream. Consider a video beforehand.

Allen also stressed to me the importance of continuing to focus on gifts. For things such as the weekly ranking, gifts are very important.

As an experiment, I wrote this week’s edition with zero assistance from ChatGPT. Better or worse? Hit reply and let me know!
