🟢 Kick’s Big Monetisation Changes

Kick is making it easier to get a sub button and be paid hourly. This week, the platform announced sweeping monetisation changes.

• The Creator Incentive Program (KCIP), where streamers can earn an hourly fixed rate was renamed to Kick Partner. Requirements for this have been lowered to 75 average viewers (among other metrics).

• The affiliate program is now simply the creator program. Just stream 5 hours to unlock your sub button and you now have a 95/5 sub split. No more follower requirements!

• Likewise, the verification requirements were lowered to 50 average viewers.

This follows an industry trend of lowering barriers to monetisation. Twitch last month announced that any new creator would have a sub button on “day one”. TikTok recently launched one-click integrations with Restream and StreamElements which of course unlocks gifting while YouTube last year introduced fan funding and jewels.

Kick remains a great choice as either your primary or secondary streaming platform. The platform has faced ethical questions given Ed Craven’s ownership of the Stake gambling platform. Personally, though, I think you are in full control of the audience, you set the tone of your chat and there are no requirements to even mention gambling. Kick’s new Partner Program even allows multistreaming to vertical platforms. The duo of Kick’s hourly pay plus TikTok LIVE’s gifting system sounds enticing!

📜 Post Of The Week

The Sidemen last week hosted a charity match in a sold-out 90,000 seater stadium that raised over $6M (£4.7M) for charity. This group of seven all just started out as content creators in their bedrooms, like you and I.

It shows that today, there is basically no ceiling for content creators. I would say that the “sky is the limit” but MrBeast keeps talking about going to space lol.

Unfortunately, the safety of female streamers appears to be at an all-time low. Valkyrae, Cinna and Emiru faced threats to their safety during an IRL stream from a manic man, with Valkyrae later reporting everyone as ok. Amouranth faced three gunmen in her home. In Canada, Chica had her home smashed and invaded by car thieves. Finally and most sadly, streamer Airi Sato in Japan was stabbed to death.

These disgusting incidents all happened in March 2025 and show the threats faced by female creators who are just trying to do their job and bring joy to their viewers.
