Think back just a few months. Did you think Pokimane would leave Twitch? Did you predict MrBeast making $250K from an 𝕏 video? What about a streaming platform paying people per hour that they stream? Let’s be honest, nobody predicted this.

The content space moves fast sometimes. Let’s dive in!

🟢 Kick Launches The Creator Incentive Program

Earlier this week, streaming platform Kick launched its long-awaited Creator Incentive Program.

As we’ve previously discussed, Kick has been testing this program on a selected group of livestreamers. The program pays a flat hourly rate to those who join it. This is on top of the subscription and donation revenue they already receive.

Requirements and How To Join

The requirements can be found in the achievements section of the Kick dashboard. The headline numbers are:

• Reach a monthly average of 100 concurrent viewers or more

• Reach over 1,500 followers

There are also requirements for hours streamed, sub count and more. Eligible creators can email [email protected].

My Thoughts

Numbers like this likely put you in the top 5% of streamers and probably even the top 1%. So the majority of streamers simply can’t join this program.

However, if you’re already streaming or multistreaming on Kick then let your viewers know that your goal is to join. They will be more than happy to hang in the stream and help with your goal.

🟣▶🔴 Pokimane Leaves Twitch

Pokimane, Twitch's most followed female streamer, has exited her contract. A few days later, she went live with her first-ever YouTube stream.

So is she signed with YouTube? Nope! She describes herself as being “free as a bird”. She is not locked to any streaming platform.

More and more creators are doing this and you should consider it too. It’s never too late to consider multistreaming.

𝕏 MrBeast Makes $250,000 From Twitter Video

As we reported last week, MrBeast posted a full video on Twitter/𝕏 for the first time ever. I honestly thought it would make three figures but in hindsight of course advertisers would want to be on the video.

MrBeast appears to be part of a special program whereby adverts are displayed on your videos. As he said, advertisers saw this experiment and rushed to get their brand to appear as an ad on his videos.

Even if you were able to join this program, you would not get results like this. That said, all creators should strongly consider at least posting some video on 𝕏, even if you are just reposting short-form content. Colin and Samir provided a great breakdown covering the future of 𝕏 for creators.
