đź”´ Deciphering the TikTok LIVE Algorithm - Live Success #11

Lessons from a $100,000,000 streaming deal, $1K from 1M views and more...

Hey, it’s Harry.

Welcome back to another week of the streaming and content grind.

Late last week, xQc signed a $100,000,000 deal with Kick. That is more than Lebron James makes.

So here’s how you can also make $100M! Just kidding, but we will definitely break this down later.

Today we are covering:

  • đź“Š Decoding the TikTok LIVE algorithm

  • đź’° TikTok creators are making $1k from 1M views

  • đź–Ą TikTok LIVE Studio requirements

  • 🎯 Lessons from xQc’s $100M deal

đź’ˇ Understanding The Algorithm

People often ask me “How do I get more views?”. Well, I can’t guarantee that but it helps to understand the algorithm! Here is my understanding of the TikTok LIVE algorithm.

Content is king. When people ask me about getting views on any platform I often give them a simple answer: make good content. On TikTok LIVE, this means having an engaging personality combined with a quality setup.

Ben Toye’s setup is just him sitting in a chair but he makes the room look great by backlighting it with simple and cheap LED lights. Here’s my affiliate link, if you’d like to shop on Amazon for some.

Engagement matters. Gifts, chatters, likes, shares. All of these signals are feeding into the algorithm. Why is the weekly ranking filled with phone streamers? Because they are engagement experts.

Admittedly, phone streamers have a huge advantage. They have live battles and multi-guest and the ability to fully focus which many gaming computer streamers simply can’t do.

How do you counter that? Technology. Take advantage of the in-built LIVE Studio alerts or even better, use TikFinity. Here’s my quick start guide and longer guide.

🤑 Earn Thousands From Longer TikTok Videos

The TikTok Creativity Program is paying crazy sums for videos over 60 seconds. I’ve seen people earning over $1,000 for 1,000,000 views.

If you’re in the US, France or Brazil then check now to see if you have access. This is not sustainable, there is no way TikTok can continue to pay these rates forever. So take advantage while it lasts!

The lesson for all creators? Keep up to speed with the latest developments. I’ll be helping you stay up to date every week but it never hurts to follow multiple news sources. 🟢 xQc Signs $100M Deal - Lessons To Be Learned

Starting with some context, Kick is a newer streaming platform backed by multi-billion dollar gambling company Stake. The obvious business model is to run Kick as a loss leader and push gambling streams on the homepage, driving people to the Stake website.

xQc meanwhile, was the leading streamer on Twitch in 2020, 2021, 2022 and so far this year.

During this time, Twitch has been working hard to annoy their streamers as much as possible by banning multistreaming and only giving 70/30 sub splits to 1K people.

So it’s no surprise that streamers have been looking for a new home and let’s be honest, it’s hard to turn down $100,000,000. The next day, Kick also secured the largest female streamer on Twitch, Amouranth.

So what can we learn?

  • As Devin Nash says, the “Eye of Sauron” will now be on Kick. xQc already got warned for trying to watch a movie. You can no longer get away with rule-breaking, for example, don’t watch copyrighted content!

  • Livestreaming is splintering across many platforms. Rumble, YouTube, Kick, Twitch, TikTok… You get the point. Cover yourself and increase your reach with multistreaming. I have many tutorials here.

  • Like Twitch, Kick growth doesn’t come from Kick itself. Grow your Kick channel via short-form content. Post your content everywhere: Shorts, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram. Seriously, even Facebook Reels can get millions of views.

If you’ve got a spare 30 minutes I highly recommend watching Devin Nash’s breakdown of this.

I hope this week’s update helps you with your streaming and content journey. As always hit reply and tell me how I can improve.

Thanks for reading!
